Terms and conditions for member businesses

1. Business membership normally costs £75 per annum (plus £15 for initial card stocks in first year) but may be subject to promotional rates or increase at the discretion of the Shop Local NY Ltd Directors. Any change will be communicated to a member at least 30 days in advance of membership renewal to allow review.

2. First year memberships are not available on credit terms, however, subsequent subscriptions and card or advertising sales will be subject to 30 days credit terms.

3. Business membership is non-refundable or transferable and any business wishing to terminate membership within a membership year must give Shop Local NY Ltd 30 days notice in writing.

4. Business owners must offer at least one discounted offering (2-10% is recommended) throughout the membership period of one year. Discounted offerings are entirely at the discretion of business owners but must represent a tangible benefit to cardholders to maintain the integrity of the scheme.

5. Business owners are entitled to alter their discounted offerings at any time without notifying Shop Local NY Ltd or cardholders. However, details of current offers must be disclosed to Shop Local NY Ltd staff for the purposes of updating promotional materials.

6. Business owners must communicate their current promotion clearly at all times using the poster holder provided. Additional poster holders can be provided at a cost of £5.00 plus VAT. Please ensure a supply of inserts by photocopying or requesting an electronic template.

7. Business owners should not undertake to supply free of charge replacement cards to cardholders with lost/damaged cards. These cardholders should be referred to Shop Local NY Ltd.

8. Business owners do undertake to supply Shop Local NY Ltd with a completed consumer form for each loyalty card retailed through their business. These can be returned using the SAE provided with each batch of cards supplied.

9. All materials pertaining to the Shop Local North Yorkshire scheme remain the property of Shop Local NY Ltd and, in the event of a business terminating membership, must be returned to Shop Local NY Ltd (who will collect upon notification). This is EXCEPTING any outstanding loyalty cards that remain the property of the member business.
